Foundation Fitness –
Stability, Mobility and Core Strength
Foundation Fitness is a mat-based class that places your core at the centre of every movement. Through focused core activation, joint mobility and postural stability, the class supports smooth, efficient movement and helps build a strong, resilient body from the inside out.
The class blends flowing, mobility-enhancing sequences with controlled strength work that integrates upper and lower body movements. Using body weight and optional light equipment such as dumbbells, bands or loops, exercises improve balance, coordination and movement control, with options offered to suit different bodies and abilities.
Short cardio elements may be introduced from time to time to gently lift your heart rate, but the emphasis remains on stability, strength and freedom of movement rather than intensity. You’ll leave the mat feeling taller, stronger and more connected — confident in how you move on and off the mat.
The Cardio Classes
Strengthening the heart, supporting bones, boosting the brain
On Saturday mornings we bring back that 90s favourite! Step aerobics is guaranteed to get you moving in all directions, is definitely going to raise your heart rate, is certainly going to ask your brain to be on full alert and is absolutely going to pump you full of endorphins.
After a dynamic warm-up that preps you for the moves to come, together we build a Step routine that will enhance your proprioceptive, cardiovascular, cognitive and mental well-being.
Then for the last 30 minutes we deliberately slow things down and use body weight and resistance equipment to turn the Step into a platform for strength training.
An amazing return on the 90 minutes of time you invest and an awesome way to start your weekend.
HIIT supports our bodies in so many ways and never more so as we transition through our menopause, losing many of the benefits higher levels of oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone provide. Exercising in this way gives us back control of our body composition, enhances our metabolic health, helps manage stress, cortisol and inflammation, and supports our brain, bone and vascular health.
Alternating short bursts of “hard” exercise with time to recover before picking up the pace again, the class is all about finding the right level of intensity and complexity for you and matching it with an interval duration that meets you where you are on the day.
The instructor is there to support you and work with you to tailor and modify the exercises so that you can reap the rewards of this fun, high-paced workout – benefits galore for your long-term health.

The Movéo Fitness Studio is a private space devoted to the health and wellness of women.
Classes are intentionally small, tailored to the needs and abilities of the women who attend, placing sufficient demand on their bodies to create positive change while safeguarding against injury.
All three classes described above are offered at this location. Come to one of the 60-minute classes for R300 or purchase a 10 class pass for R2,750, valid for three months from the date of purchase. Step n Strength 90 is R425 per class.
